This will be a cohort of Teachers, TOSAs, and Instructional Coaches, where we will learn about infusing water education, environmental literacy, and NGSS-based lessons and projects into your teaching. A stipend and classroom materials will be offered at the completion of the program.*

Requirements for Participation:
The Valley Water/SCCOE Environmental Literacy Cohort is a community of practice that builds capacity for TK-12 teachers to design and deliver learning experiences that are student centered, problem- and project-based, and integrate real-world environmental and social issues. These experiences will be centered on water education, Environmental Principles and Concepts (EP&Cs), and Valley Water activities.
There are four main requirements for the program:
1) Attendance at all Workshops and RAFT in person Seminar
Workshop Dates/ Time: 3:30pm-5pm:
Wednesday, September 8th, 2021
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021
Wednesday, January 19th, 2022
RAFT In person Seminar:
Wednesday, March 16th, 4pm-6:30 (Dinner included)
2) Development and implementation of 1 or more lessons or units that are water education, environmental literacy, and NGSS focused,. These can be done individually, in a partnership, or in small teams. More details will be provided throughout the cohort.
3) Partnering with Valley Water's Outreach Team to co-present lessons to students once or twice throughout the 2021-2022 school year.
4) Final Deliverables: Present an overview of the lesson(s) and/or unit that was developed over the school year with a final reflection and student feedback. This presentation will either be on Wednesday, May 18th or Wednesday, May 25th from 3-5pm either virtually or in person. (Participants will have a choice).
*The stipend amount will depend on the number of participants (minimum $600 per participant and $100 for materials)
