Data Consent Release

This event is run by Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM). As part of BEAM’s

evaluation process, the Art of Problem Solving Initiative, Inc.is requesting your consent to access identifiable student level data from the New York City Department of Education. This includes attendance, course enrollment, grades, and test scores from the years you were enrolled in 7th grade through the time of high school graduation. Your child’s BEAM cohort and future BEAM cohorts should benefit from participation in this project; BEAM may use the data to provide enhanced advising services to your child, as well as to examine areas in which the program might improve overall. It is very unlikely this study could pose any unknown risks. There may be risks of inconvenience and possible loss of privacy and confidentiality associated with participating in any research study. Consent is completely voluntary. If you do not provide consent for your student to participate, there will be no effect on your student’s grades or eligibility to participate in the program.
