Mt Greylock Regional School District - Parent/Guardian Form

Guidelines and Contract for Mt Greylock students/families working with Williams College Fellows as Academic Support, Student Support and Co-Curricular Fellows/Mentors

***Please note: Mount Greylock students will be asked to sign a paper version of this contract upon their first meeting. Parents/Guardians, please review the expectations and give consent for your student to participate by completing the form.***

WELCOME TO THE WILLIAMS CENTER AT MT. GREYLOCK (WC@MG)!
As a Mount Greylock student, you may be working online or in person with a Williams College Fellow (WF) as a tutor in various academic areas including writing and/or in a club or co-curricular (Writing Club, Book Club, GMSU). In order to ensure MG students and the Williams Fellows have a safe, productive, and rewarding experience, MGRSD and Williams College require you to comply with the following guidelines and agree to the provisions for all interactions as set forth below.

ATTENDANCE AND MONITORING
*Mt Greylock students who sign up to participate in WC@MG programs are expected to attend and be punctual to all scheduled sessions.

*If a MG student is unable to attend a scheduled session, please reach out to Mrs Barrett or the MG program advisor as soon as possible to let them know your change of plans.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS: (homework tutoring, Writing Fellows and clubs)
*Williams Fellows will be monitored during sessions by a school based advisor. The MG advisor will routinely visit all sessions.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS: (homework tutoring and clubs)
*MG students will have to sign up for online tutoring and club activities and complete the necessary permission form provided by the school to participate in these activities. FYI: For the Sunday evening tutoring program, Williams Fellows will connect online with MG students in grades 9-12 and there will not be a MG advisor present.  If HS students would like to self schedule out of school times (remotely or in person) with a writing fellow for essay support, the contract should be completed. Note: Working with a writing fellow during the school day does NOT require a sign-up or this signed contract

COMMUNICATION
Consistent, ongoing communication between Williams Fellows, MG students and the MG advisor is essential to the program’s success.

*Participating MG students should have the MG program advisor and Williams Fellows’ contact information readily available in case of questions.

*In the case of an emergency, serious problem, or question regarding comments or behavior during online sessions, WFs should report issues to the school advisor. Likewise, MG students who have questions or concerns should be in touch with their school advisor.

CONDUCT
WFs are ambassadors of Williams College and should serve as role models in our school communities at all times.  Likewise, MG students should attend all sessions prepared and be respectful of the Fellows at all times.
Failure to do so may result in a student's loss of privileges to participate in a program.

 Williams Fellows will not:
*Pursue dating or sexual relationships with students
*Invite MG students to campus events/parties without prior approval from CLiA staff and the school program advisor.
*Use or discuss or share information or photos (online or otherwise) with inappropriate content, including but not limited to nudity or illegal substances such as alcohol or drugs.
*Engage in dishonest activity including but not limited to plagiarism, cheating or falsifying information.
*Engage with MG students outside planned program sessions without prior explicit approval from the school program advisor.
*Students should interact with WFs only through designated MG platforms (no social media networks).
*CLIA hired, assigned, trained and CORIed Williams Fellows are the only people who may conduct online sessions with local students.
