SummerFun 2024 Class Proposals
Thank you for your interest in SummerFun!, Arlington Community Ed's summer program that serves hundreds of families each week. We are looking for energetic and experienced teachers to design creative and challenging courses for students in grades 1-12.

SummerFun! 2024 runs for 5 weeks, July 8–August 9 at Arlington High School. Pay is $50 per hour for certified teachers, $40 per hour for non-certified.

Most classes run for 3 hours in either the morning or afternoon for one week. While most classes conform to the half-day model, we are open to full-day and multi-week ideas (no field trips). Our teachers join us for an average of 2 weeks for both morning and afternoon sessions (for different age ranges), but you can submit for more or less time.

Here are some specific topic areas we are looking to fill, but we are open to all ideas!
  • Classes for grades 1-3 in all program areas
  • Challenging STEM classes for all ages (incl. nature, experiments, messy projects)
  • Cooking classes that involve real culinary skills and cooking from scratch
  • Dance classes of all types
  • Inspiring art, craft, and photography classes with a theme
  • Theater/Improv classes (for all grades, but particularly elementary grade levels)
  • Classes that are non-gender specific
Submit up to 3 course proposals below. If you have more than 3 ideas, please complete the form a second time.

The deadline for proposals is December 18. Please feel free to forward this to friends and colleagues outside of APS.
