Join the Redwood School PTA Executive Committee as a Standing Committee Chairperson: You Can Make a Difference!

The Board of Directors is now filling positions for the 2024-2025 PTA Standing Committee Chairpersons and encourages you to consider joining the team.

If you think PTA parents just organize fundraisers and school carnivals, you might be surprised to learn all that the PTA has done and is looking forward to doing for our school and our students, parents, and teachers. Research cited by the National Education Association shows that "when schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more." We need your involvement!

The following chairperson positions on the Executive Committee are available for the 2024-2025 term. Please review the descriptions for each position and consider submitting your nomination.

1. Fundraising Chairperson
2. Communications Chairperson
3. Events/Programs Chairperson
4. 5th Grade Activities Chairperson
5. Bylaws Chairperson
6. Social Media Chairperson

All PTA Executive Committee Chairpersons have the following commitments:

1. Must be a PTA member in good standing for the entire term.
2. Serve a term from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
3. Expected availability is from May before the term begins through July after the term ends.
4. Attend regular Executive Committee meetings (approximately 2-3 per month as deemed necessary by the Executive Committee).
5. Attend the general PTA membership meetings (approximately 3-4 per year) and other parent meetings.
6. 5th Grade Activities Chairperson must have a child in 5th grade.
 
The Board of Directors will select one eligible person for each committee chairperson. You cannot be considered by the Board of Directors unless you complete and submit the below interest form. You can nominate yourself or anyone who you feel may be a good fit.

This interest form will be available until June 1, 2024, after which time the Board of Directors will announce the appointed chairpersons.
