Sketchbook Games Writer Application Form

Having released the critically acclaimed Lost Words: Beyond the Page on Steam, consoles and mobile, Sketchbook Games are now looking for a writer for our new game. 

This new project is focusing on the topic of mental health and anxiety and we want it to have a positive impact on our player’s lives.

We particularly encourage applications from people in groups underrepresented in the games industry. 

It will be a remote, freelance contract with flexible hours.

Our two requirements are:
  1. You are UK based
  2. You have written for at least one shipped game. Any game design experience is a plus.
We will offer up to five candidates the opportunity to complete a short paid writing sample for the project for £150 each and we will be able to offer a contract to the writer(s) we hope to continue working with for the wider project.

The narrative concept will consist of a self contained short story chapter and a short, max 5 minutes worth of sample dialogue. We will send an NDA agreement and more detailed brief to our chosen candidates.
