2024 RMHS MARCHING BAND CONTRACT

Committing to membership of Red Mountain Marching Pride requires an understanding and acceptance of the dedication and time required for success.  All members are expected to adhere to a code of conduct, be on time and participate in all rehearsals and performances. All doctor and dental appointments should be arranged, if at all possible, to avoid conflict with rehearsal and performance times. 

Mrs. Hamilton and Mr. Jones reserve the right to revoke a student's performance privileges due to conduct issues, attendance issues or missed rehearsals.

The marching band season extends from late July through mid-November each year.  The competitive season spans weekends from early October through mid-November.  An optional band trip to California to march in the Seal Beach Christmas Parade and spend a day at Disneyland is planned for December 6 - 8 at an additional cost (TBA).

The drill for our marching show is written specifically for each individual student. If a student does not follow through with their commitment after the drill writing has begun (or is completed), extra time and expense is required to rewrite the drill. For this reason, a commitment form, signed by parents and students, is required before anyone will be assigned a drill spot.  If you plan to march in the fall of 2024, please complete this form by Monday, April 22nd.  

Students are responsible for managing their time well to meet all of their commitments outside of marching band.  Academic achievement is always a priority. 

Please note that students must also be enrolled in a band class during the school day.

Marching Band fees cover expenses including show drill/music, staff/instruction costs, etc. Additionally, band members are required to provide long black socks to wear under their uniforms.  The RMHS Band Booster organization helps to offset costs not covered by these fees and the district. Subsequently, there are fundraisers that all band families are encouraged to support. 

The financial commitment of $650 consists of a $500 band membership fee in addition to the $100 class fee that is paid with school registration, as well as the $50 Camp fee. These fees are required. All payments are due according to the payment schedule.
