2023-24 Sephardi House Fellowship Application
The American Sephardi Federation’s Sephardi House Fellowship is a unique learning, community-building, and leadership development program that infuses the diversity, creativity, and vibrancy of the Sephardic spirit into Jewish student life—while also advancing Jewish unity and vitality on campus.

Bringing together a select cohort of Jewish students from colleges across the United States, our program is the only national yearlong fellowship dedicated to deepening a sense of Jewish belonging through an immersion in the multifaceted history, cultures, and wisdom of the Sephardic and Mizrahi world.

The Sephardi House Fellowship experience includes: 

1) 10 virtual group learning sessions with influential Sephardic and Mizrahi educators and community leaders
2) one-on-one mentorship and tailored campus support
3) two in-person Sephardic Shabbaton leadership summits
4) student-led campus programming that elevates and celebrates the Greater Sephardic world
5) exclusive access to the American Sephardi Federation’s robust educational resources and events
6) a $1,000 stipend upon full completion of the program 


Deadline: August 31 (please note: we encourage earlier submissions, as we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and inviting selected students for follow-up Zoom interviews before making final acceptance decisions)

A core part of the Sephardi House Fellowship is community building and leadership on campus. Please tell us about student clubs and organizations with which you are involved (or hope to be involved), and specify if you have held any leadership positions (do not be concerned about repeating something from the previous response).  *

If you are selected, we will be including a brief biography about you in our fellowship announcement. Please write a short student bio (4-8 sentences, in the third person) that we could publicly share.

In creating a rich and meaningful experience for the Sephardi House Fellows, our program includes the following required components over the course of 9 months:

1) 10 group learning and discussions sessions, occurring via Zoom on select Sundays from 5 to 6:30pm ET (first session is on September 10)

2) 30-minute monthly one-on-one mentorship meetings/check-ins

3) in-person Shabbaton leadership summits in the fall and spring

4) organizing a community-building project that engages each fellow’s peers on campus

5) attending at least two virtual or in-person American Sephardi Federation events

6) regular correspondence and engagement with the cohort via our WhatsApp group
