Graduate School 101 Workshop Nomination Form
Dear Nominators,

We are delighted that you have decided to nominate a student for the 2021 Grad School 101 Workshop, which will be hosted by The Women of Color Project (WOCP). The workshop will take place online via Zoom on October 9-11, 2021. The student application closes on September 1st, 2021, and decisions will be sent out on September 15th. With the understanding that Zoom may pose a barrier for participants with disabilities, we are committed to accommodating for the needs of our audience.

Please fill out this nomination application by August 27, 2021. This is to allow enough time for the nominated student to complete the student application before September 1st!

The workshop will provide full access to 50 black and indigenous women+ of color students who are preparing to apply graduate school in STEM fields. This includes members of the African diaspora, Latinx, Indigenous, and Native American communities. Our goal is to help these students improve their graduate school application package and provide them with the tips necessary to succeed in graduate school and beyond. Additionally, we are broadcasting our workshops to the general public to increase access to important information about graduate school to communities in need.

Our three-day workshop will have a packed schedule consisting of panels, workshops, and presentations intended to enhance, enrich, and inform the graduate school application process, and cover the nuances of applying to graduate school as a woman+ of color. We will also discuss life in graduate school as well as provide students with practical information to navigate challenges and thrive during their graduate school journey.

The nomination form will begin on the NEXT page and should only take about two minutes total.

This program has been generously funded by the Elsevier’s Agents of Change Award and the Harvard Lab Cultural Innovation Fund. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns about the application process or workshop itself, please refer to the application FAQ section on our website (https://www.thewocproject.com), or email us at wocp@thewocproject.org.

Sincerely,
The WOCP Team
