Internship offer [AI] informatics master
Thank you for offering an internship to our students. We accept propositions of internships of various duration (1 month to 6 months), throughout the year, at the M1 (1st year) or M2 level (second year). To ensure that all information is properly recorded and fit the format required for students to complete their degree, please fill out this form, preferably BEFORE OCTOBER 30, 2020, to ensure that you get the best candidates (approved subjects will be released at that date)!

Guidelines
- Write the internship description in ENGLISH (because we have international students) and specify if students must be able to communicate in French.
- Internships longer than 2 months full-time of more than 300 hours MUST be remunerated, see https://www.service-public.fr/professionnels-entreprises/vosdroits/F32131.
- We do NOT encourage software development (only) internships: we ask that internships include data analyses, method comparisons, and/or theoretical analyses. This holds both for internships carried out in academic labs AND internships performed in company R&D environments.
- As part of their internship, regardless of the duration, the students are expected to:
+ do a bibliographic review of the state of the art (SOTA)
+ identify an appropriate approach with original aspects that will be specific to their contribution
+ write a (brief) project proposal (2 to 4 pages)
+ carry out systematic experiments on specified datasets, comparing several approaches
+ make a critical analysis of the results (eventually supported by theoretical results)
+ make one (or more) presentations to your colleagues during the internship
+ write a (short) report (~8 pages including figures, graphs and tables + an additional number of pages for bibliography and appendices),  describing the background and motivation (including SOTA), the data and method, the experiments, and a conclusion and future work.
- We encourage you to provide an internship description that includes the above components and, in particular, specifies the type of data that will be analyzed. We recommend that the data be available at the start of the internship (particularly important for short internships).
- For long internships of M2 students (that should be 4 to 6 months long and terminate before August 31, 2021), we expect the students to make an oral presentation and a report of a quality approaching that of a communication to a workshop or a conference.
- Short M1 internships should only take place in academic labs (they are called TER: Travail d'Etude et de Recherche and are supposed to last 2-4 months, 1/2 day per week).
- Not all students require the same amount of supervision, but make sure that a tutor from your organization will be available to discuss progress at least on a weekly basis.
