Crimson Game Jam is an upcoming game jam hosted by the Game Development Club at WSU. Simply put, a game jam is an event where participants try to make a video game from start to end in a limited time frame (48 hours for ours).
You can participate as an individual or as a team! Anyone can participate, you don't have to be a student! We hope to open this up to all members of the Palouse game development community. And don't worry about experience level! Our club officers can help you out to make a game at any experience level -- there's tons of great options with regards to engines and development frameworks for complete beginners.
It will take place Veteran's Day Weekend between Friday (11/8) at 6pm and Sunday (11/10) at 7pm. We'll be kicking it off in Sloan 5 with a opening presentation and pizza -- then breaking out teams in computer lab rooms across the building. The final schedule will be posted soon, teams are free to work anywhere but we have rooms available for the duration of the jam.
As a club, we have been striving to create a fun space for people to brainstorm, collaborate, and help each other with various game development problems and projects. We hope that this game jam will help facilitate that purpose and give a kick start for those wanting to get into the hobby/field!
