2022 xʷəxʷmínaʔ Trout Fishery

The Syilx Nation would like to invite Syilx Nation members to join us for the xʷəxʷmínaʔ Trout Fishery. We will be fishing for rainbow trout and bull trout and reconnecting with the eastern part of our Syilx Territory.

Fishery will be hosted at the outlet of the Lardeau River at the Trout Lake Recreation Site near Kaslo BC. Fishery to start at sunrise and run throughout the day and weekend.

Notice About Trout Lake Rec Site
Please Note: The Trout Lake Recreation Site is a remote camp-site with minimal services and facilities. There are some outhouses on-site. There may still be snow at this recreation site and is habitat to bears around the time of the xʷəxʷmínaʔ Trout Fishery. Fishers should be prepared with own snacks, water, and other outdoor supplies they may require for the day/weekend. Camping nearby is available. The nearest town is about an hour away and has limited grocery stores, dining, and accommodations.

There is NO CELL SERVICE in the area so please be prepared.

I hereby release, discharge and covenant not to sue the Okanagan Nation Alliance, their respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, and employees, other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessees of premises on which the Activity takes place, (each considered one of the "RELEASEES" herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the “release” or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations; and I further agree that if, despite this release and waiver of liability, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releases, I will indemnify, save and hold harmless each of the RELEASEES from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may incur as the result of such claim.  Nothing herein shall be construed as a waiver of the Sovereign Immunity of the Okanagan Nation Alliance.
