Coaches Application for Surfcoast Chargers Representative Teams 2021 / 22
The Surfcoast Basketball Association (SBA) are calling Expressions of Interest for coaching positions in the Surfcoast Chargers Representative program for the 2021/22 season, including:
 
- Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) season - Oct 2021 to Sep 2022.
- Country Basketball League (CBL) season - Oct 2021 to Mar 2022.
- Big V season - Apr 2022 to Sep 2022.

Interested candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Assist at the Surfcoast Chargers representative selection trials.

2. Attend weekly training sessions, games and SBA sanctioned tournaments.

3. Attend all Coaches Meetings and Development opportunities as requested by the SBA.

4. Adhere to the Basketball Victoria Coaches Code of Conduct.

5. Hold or be willing to complete a National Accreditation Scheme or Club Coach Accreditation course.

6. Complete a Working with Children (WWC) Form and in the case of VJBL, a VJBL Statutory Declaration Form.

7. Be highly organised, willing to work as a team, and possess the ability to coach basketball at appropriate level.

8. Attend domestic games and finals to encourage identified players to come and try out.

9. Meet all the expectations, standards and values of the SBA.

Please note the following; 1. All coaches MUST be able to attend a couple of information and training sessions on the SBA style of play dates and times will be emailed to all applicants. 2. All coaching appointments will be made by a selection panel and approved by the SBA committee. 3. All coaching appointments are subject to the provision by the appointee of a Working with Children Check and Basketball Victoria Member Protection Statutory Declaration. 4. Successful applicants are not appointed to a team until after the tryouts have been completed and teams are confirmed.
