ABCD Training - Expression of Interest

This form is for organisations/volunteers/individuals to register their interest in completing an Asset Based Community Development course hosted by CVS Uttlesford as part of our COVID-19 Recovery project.

The course commitment is 8 x 90 minute online learning sessions, plus 8 hours of self directed learning and completion of practical assignments. Please see below for full description of course and learning outcomes.

Our December course is now full, however we are accepting expressions of interest for February 2021. Please register your interest by 30th January 2021.

Discover Asset Based Community Development (ABCD)

A modular e-learning course for 20 people that consists of the following eight modules:

Moving from Deficit to Asset Based Community Development - focus on what's strong not what's wrong
The Six Building Blocks of Community 
The Role of the Professional in Citizen Space
The Craft and Power of using Questions to Build Community
Learning Conversations & Developing Community Builder Skills
The Role of Connectors and Animators
The 8 Touchstones Community Building Framework Pt: 1
The 8 Touchstones of Community Building Framework Pt 2

There are three aspects to the delivery of the Discover ABCD course

Self-directed learning - access to video, audio, written and visual learning resources relating to each of the eight modules via the Community Renewal platform.
Reflective learning – 8 X Coaching seminars per area facilitated online via zoom.
Practical Assignments – Exercises that attendees will complete as they progress through the course

Duration: Eight X 90 min Coaching Seminars, Eight hours of self-directed learning plus practical assignments.
