Howdy folks! If you fill this out, you are signing up to come on the Ohiopyle camping trip, run by the Outdoors Club at Pitt, happening the weekend of SEPTEMBER 9-11
(Note: We can only bring about 40-50 people on this trip. Attendees will be chosen on a partially first come, first serve basis, however we are also considering gear needs, cars, activity interest, and if you have been on a trip before or not- we are trying to balance it all out and be as fair as possible!)
PLEASE READ THE FAQ FOR QUESTIONS BEFORE ASKING
Ohiopyle is a quaint State Park about 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh, with nice trails, a visitor center, waterfalls, natural waterslides, and even some climbin' crags. We will be staying at a field-style campsite where you will need to bring tents, provide your own food and gear (unless you need to borrow gear but- it will not be there/we will not be bringing it there for you automatically). (There are a few trees for hammock camping but not a ton.) We will have a campfire and there is a bathhouse with sinks and showers and potable water. There is a small town of Ohiopyle settled in the Horseshoe bend of the Youghiogheny river, where we will go for hanging out/a meal for Saturday lunch.
The officers are setting up the roster, organizing transportation, booking the campsite, setting the schedule, and organizing groups of people for activities- so please be communicative back and we will appreciate it!
Cars will depart for Ohiopyle on Friday 9/9 during the afternoon/evening and return Sunday to campus. We will host camping, hiking, a trip to the natural waterslides and river, and we can host a SMALL group of climbers to go (toprope 5.7-5.10ish).
