Picardo P-patch "Anytime" produce rescue orientation sign-up | Mondays & Wednesdays | Summer & Fall 2021
The historic Picardo P-Patch has requested our help in biking fresh produce from their local community down to the University District Food Bank! This volunteer opportunity has flexible day and evening hours, meaning that you can use your bike to help support University District Food Bank at anytime of day that you are available.

Volunteers who are interested in this "Anytime" volunteer opportunity must first attend either a Monday or a Wednesday evening volunteer orientation. The orientation only takes around 30 minutes and includes a ride from the Picardo P-patch on 82nd and Ravenna Ave down to the University District Food Bank on 51st and Roosevelt Way.

After you complete the orientation you will be able to bike produce from the Picardo P-patch to the University District Food Bank on any day of the week, at anytime - Whenever you want to ride!

For volunteers who live in the Lake City area the P-Patch is also in donating their produce to the North Helpline Lake City location. To see the times that they accept donated produce see their page on their website http://www.northhelpline.org/get-involved/donate-food/

Volunteers will need to be able to carry at least 20 pounds of produce on your bike using a rack, basket, panniers, or a backpack.

Using your bike to connect fresh and locally grown produce with your local food bank and the food insecure families that they support is a fun and quick way to have a big positive impact on your neighborhood while out riding your bike!
