ANU's Open Day is back again! This year it's on Saturday, August 14th, from 9am - 4pm. (COVID permitting)
We are seeking RSES volunteers to showcase RSES on the day. We are all really lucky to have found something that we love doing, and Open Day is all about sharing that with future students.
This year we'll be in the Kambri precinct's Marie Reay Teaching Building. Everything of ours will be at the one location, and we are needing about 4-6 people at any given time to help with our activities, which will include:
- Academic Advice (especially from lecturers, as well as tutors, but especially lecturers)
- Microscopes with foraminifera and petrology thin sections (or any other samples you'd like to bring along)
- Seismometers
- some nice rocks (bring your favourites!)
- if there's something you'd like to bring that you feel you know more about and can get your enthusiasm across with, please let us know! (e.g. coral? fossils? teeth?)
- Water density tank experiments
If you've got experience with any of these it would be great to have you there to help answer questions, and if you don't then your enthusiasm would also be much appreciated.
We will be holding a briefing session before the day for those that are not familiar with what studies RSES has to offer and what to expect on the day.
Thanks!
