Board Member Application

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Board Member for The Friends of The Salt Lake City Library. We welcome your interest in this possibility and would like to learn more about you and explain the expectations for Board Membership.


Board Members are expected to:

  1. Attend Board Meetings (1st Tuesday of each month) at 6:00 pm.

  2. Volunteer 2+ hours per week, either/or cumulative, during the month in the Book Sale area, Amazon/Online Sales, The Library Store, or another capacity.

  3. Serve on one of The Friends’ committees or initiatives (see list below). (Short term)

  4. Pay yearly membership dues.

  5. Serve for a 3-year term on the board with a renewable second term.

Standing Committees as of 2023 (Committees will be put together during the time when needed)

  • Membership Committee

  • Marketing Committee

  • Sales Committee

  • Finance Committee

  • Fundraising Committee

  • Advocacy and Literacy Committee

  • Volunteer Committee
