Pacific Skyline Council, BSA Seasonal Staff and Camp Volunteer Application - Information about Employment
Volunteering at Camp Ta-Ki-Ma can be rewarding, enjoyable, and fun!

Opportunities to serve Scouting as a member of the volunteer staff are available to outstanding applicants. Competition for employment is keen, the jobs demanding, and the experience exhilarating. Applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age (further explanation on age requirements found in section 3), marital status, veteran status, or the presence of a disability that is unrelated to ability to perform the job(s) requested.

Volunteering at multiple weeks and locations is encouraged and each location provides a variation in the camp experience! Applicants must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America or agree to become registered before employment begins. All volunteers will be registered in the Pacific Skyline Council as Camp Staff and must agree to complete various training courses including Youth Protection, Unlawful Harassment, and Weather Hazards that will remain current throughout the employment agreement. These will be a part of staff Training if you have not already taken them.

The principles of the Scout Oath and Law must be practiced as a way of life. As a facility of the BSA, the camps' staff is expected to set an example of excellence in Scouting which includes the proper wearing of the uniform and adhere to standards of personal appearance. Extreme hairstyles, unkempt facial hair, inappropriate jewelry (in the opinion of council management), and non-camp shirts are not allowed.

References are important! You will be asked to  provide names and contact information for (3) people who can provide references for you.

Submit your application early. many major decisions and ideas are submitted early in the year, and there are limited resources at each location. The earlier you can get plugged in, the better. So, if you start this application, do your best to finish it in one sitting.

After your application has been submitted, we will contact you regarding interviews. Submission of an application does not guarantee a volunteer opportunity.

The Pacific Skyline Council, BSA is an equal opportunity employer and volunteer organization.
