The Marathon Family Health Team (MFHT) is pleased to support various community groups by providing them with the opportunity to apply for micro-grants ranging from $500 to $1500. This micro-grant opportunity is provided as part of the MFHT's commitment to utilizing the $20,000 prize awarded by ParticipACTION responsibly and meaningfully.
Eligibility criteria:
• funds must be used to support local physical activity or sport opportunities
• user groups must be located in Marathon or Biigtigong Nishnaabeg (both communities participated in the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge)
• preference will be given to groups that target children and youth, but all interested groups/organizations are encouraged to apply
• project funds are required to be spent by March 31st, 2023

MFHT's evaluating committee will make an effort to distribute the funds across various activities and age groups to increase its breadth of reach. They will also do their best to make decisions around recipients by June 30th.
Please note that all successful applicants will be required to complete a post-project evaluation to describe their project outcomes and expenditures. Successful applicants may be asked to return any unused funds.
