Volunteer Waiver
By clicking Submit you agree to the following: In consideration of my participation in The Big Float,
1) I acknowledge and fully understand that I will be engaging in activities that involve risk of serious injury, including permanent disability and death, and severe economic losses due to the actions, inactions or negligence of others, or the condition of any equipment used. Further, there may be other risks not known to us or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.
2) Assume all the foregoing risks and accept personal responsibility for any damage following such injury, permanent, disability, or death.
3) Release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Human Access Project, its respective administrators, directors, agents, and/or employees of the organization, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, and advertisers, all of which are hereinafter referred to as "releasees", from any demands, losses or damages on account of injury, including death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence or faults of the releasees.
4) I agree that while participating in The Big Float, I will not consume alcoholic beverages and that I will wear my lifejacket at all times while near and/or in the river, and I will stay within the boundary safety kayaks on the west side of the channel. I understand crossing the Willamette River will expose me to risk and will compromise the overall safety of the event.
5) The Big Float requires all participants to wear a life jacket at all times. It is up to the individual participants to obtain a life jacket. Participants who do not have a lifejacket will not be permitted to participate in The Big Float crossing.
THE UNDERSIGNED HAS READ THE ABOVE WAIVER AND RELEASE, UNDERSTANDS THAT THE UNDERSIGNED HAS GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT AND SIGNS IT VOLUNTARILY
