Thundercats Volleyball COMPETITIVE Summer Camp 2024  

Our Competitive Summer Camp is a development camp aimed for athletes aged 11 to 17 who have no prior club/rep experience who want to train to compete. Our camp provides a fun and engaging approach to teaching and improving on technical and tactical volleyball abilities. With the help of our enthusiastic coaching staff, athletes will learn volleyball skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking, with a technical emphasis in the morning half of the day, and fun and active game play in the afternoon. Athletes will be assigned to appropriate courts based on their skill level to promote fair and enthusiastic game play. There is opportunity for athletes to progress to different courts as the week continues.

Head Coach: Alisa Gavva 
Alisa is the current head coach of the 15UG Thundercats Volleyball team; a recent graduate athlete from Toronto Metropolitan University's Varsity Women's Volleyball team (previously known as Ryerson University) where she played as a libero/setter. Additionally, she actively engages in competitive beach volleyball both domestically and internationally, collaborating closely with the Ontario Provincial team.
Sample Camp Schedule

9:00- 10:30 Session 1 (Warm-Up and Technique-Based Drills)

10:30-10:40 Snack Break 

10:40-12:00 Session 2 (Ball Handling Drills)

12:00-13:00 Lunch (not provided, athlete to bring their own) 

13:00- 14:30 Session 3 (Advancements on technique + tactics)

14:30 - 14:40 Snack Break 

14:40 - 15:55 Session 4 (Tactics & COMPETITION/GAME PLAY)

Last 5 minutes of Recovery (stretching, mobility, icing)

FRIDAY IS COMPETITION DAY!!!

Time: 9:00AM - 4:00PM (early drop off & late pick up options are possible upon request for an extra fee)

(Athletes will be divided into appropriate groups based on comfort and skill level)

Fee for 5-day week camp:
$480.00 regular
$450.00 early bird rate if paid by May 25, 2024 (Extended!)

$385.00 regular
$355.00 early bird rate if paid by May 25, 2024 (Extended!)
