Ship-to-Shore Indirect Live Interaction Request Form
Who is this form for?
Group facilitators, institutions/organizations and teachers that are interested in connecting live to deep-sea ocean exploration in your national marine sanctuaries.

What is happening?
NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary are offering a limited number of live ocean exploration interactions for viewers to explore Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Shipboard broadcast capabilities aboard Research Vessel (R/V) Connecticut enable viewers to engage in live dialogue through a question box with scientists, engineers and on-board team members that will be supported with visually-rich content and programming.

About the live interactions:
These broadcasts range from 20-30 minutes. Interactions will be run through the Inner Space Center (innerspacecenter.org) at the University of Rhode Island to connect you with scientists and engineers aboard the R/V Connecticut in Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. This is a tremendous opportunity for viewers of all ages to learn more about ocean exploration, deep-sea biology, marine technology and STEM careers.

Indirect Connections: Indirect connections are offered to anyone, group, classroom, institution that has access to the internet. The live link will be created and distributed out of the Inner Space Center. Each viewer and viewing group will have the capability to interact with questions and answers throughout the live broadcast by submitting them through text on the website they are watching the live stream on. Questions will be monitored and addressed by the host at the Inner Space Center.

Facebook Live: A one time Facebook Live broadcast will be conducted at 2:00pm on September 17th from NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries facebook account. The Facebook Live feed will be streamed out of the Inner Space Center. The focus of this broadcast will be to give an overview of the project, and highlight the other opportunities to tune in live through the indirect connections that will occur in the afternoon/evenings throughout the week. Known in-person screenings of the indirect connections will be highlighted and advertised.
There will be two differently tailored programs that you are invited to connect to. The descriptions are below. Please note throughout the form which interaction you are interested in.

Technology
Reaching the Deep Sea: Marine Technology and Careers in Action
To explore one and understand one of the most remote places on Earth -- the deep-sea -- state-of-the-art marine technology, including remotely operated vehicles, high-definition cameras, and 3D imaging must be used. This live interaction will introduce you to different technologies and careers that support exploration in NOAA’s Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.

Science
Deep-Sea Exploration: Biology and Archaeology in Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary
Explore the shipwrecks lying on the seafloor of NOAA's Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary in Massachusetts Bay. This live interaction will connect you to the expedition scientists who study the communities of marine life that make shipwrecks their home. Additionally, you will learn the stories behind these shipwrecks by visiting them on the seafloor. This program will focus on the biological and archaeological significance of shipwrecks in one of America's underwater treasures.
