BOOST Your Producing 2019
Welcome to BOOST Your Producing 2019
24 & 25 October 2019 at Sheffield Theatres

These free workshops are aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at those at the beginning of their theatre making professional lives, and is most relevant to artists and companies who produce their own work (i.e. who don't work with an independent producer), or who share the work usually defined as 'producing' between company members. Please read the description below carefully to ensure that it’s a good fit for you, and if you're still not sure please email hilary@thirdangel.co.uk or give her a call on 0114 272 8734.

WHAT'S ON OFFER?

Two days of information, training, discussion and peer support led by Third Angel’s Executive Producer Hilary Foster. Your responses in this application form will help Hilary to tailor the workshops to best meet the needs of attendees, and if interest is high in a particular area we may be able to invite other speakers in to offer advice and information. Broadly we expect the days to go like this:

DAY 1 - Thursday 24 October - 11am - 6pm
A gallop through the basics of running a company and producing your own work, including company structures, fundraising, booking a tour, financial management and marketing. This will be a whole-group day with lots of information, signposting to further useful resources and a chance to ask questions, with the odd breakout session where it makes sense to divide people by experience or interest. We also hope to have some socialising/networking time during and after the end of the session for those who are able to stay.

DAY 2 - Friday 25 October - 9.30am - 5.30pm
Working in smaller groups depending on particular interests, and/or focus on areas we run out of time to explore sufficiently on Day 1, and allowing for more peer to peer support where appropriate. We’ll also hope to build in a bit more informal time for you to get to know the other attendees and the opportunity to ask follow up questions 1-1 with Hilary.

In order to make the most of the days, we strongly recommend that you attend both. If you can only attend one, Day 1 will be the easiest to make use of as a stand alone workshop. If you can only attend Day 2, please contact Hilary to discuss further whether or not this will work us both.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We do receive applications from more people than we can accommodate, due to both room capacity and to ensure the workshop is as good as it can be. We will let everyone know whether or not they have been successful, but please give us a few weeks to work through shortlisting and notification.

If more than one person from your company would like to attend, please complete one application form for each individual.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: Friday 28th June at 5pm
