Public Ceramics Summer 2024 BIPOC Fellowship
Public Ceramics seeks to make ceramics classes accessible to people from marginalized identities that have been historically underrepresented in American studios, particularly Black and Indigenous people and other people of color.

The Public Ceramics Fellowship (PCF) will cover the cost of one semester of adult classes at a ceramics studio, including credits for firing fees and basic supplies. No prior experience with ceramics is necessary - just a desire and commitment to learn and play with clay. If you'd prefer to submit a video statement in lieu of a written one, please see below for instructions.

This year, we will be offering a limited number of advanced placements at Michelle Wen's home studio for fellows who have a minimum of 2 years experience with wheel thrown ceramics, and are looking to advance their practice. These fellowships will be 6 weeks long instead of 8. The classes will also be more of a small group setting so each student will get more attention.

If you would like to be considered for placement at Michelle Wen's studio, please tell us a little bit about your ceramics practice and drop a link to your work!
Will you need assistance with transit costs to the studio?
