What:
Book Mates is a reading buddy program partnering teens with 1st-4th grade children. The goal of the program is to give children the opportunity to practice the skill of reading with an attentive teen and have fun!

The program runs each fall and spring with weekly 45 minute sessions for a set number of weeks. Weekly attendance is required for the duration of the program.

Spaces are limited and online applications are required each season (Submitting an application does not mean automatic acceptance. Applicants will be notified by phone or email of status).
Who:
Students in grades 6-12 may apply. NOTE: A parent/guardian must provide consent at the end of this form. Applications accepted each fall and spring.
When:
Fall 2019 session dates include Thursdays, November 7, 14, 21 & December 5 (no session Nov. 28) at 3:45-4:30pm. Weekly attendance is required.

New participants are required to attend a training session on Wednesday, October 23 at 4:00-5:30pm. This training is required in order to become a Book Mate. NOTE: If you have previously been a Book Mate, you are exempt from attending this training.
