The MTS is regularly open for volunteers to work:
- Monday 9am - 12pm (Donation processing only)
- Tues - Thurs 9am - 2pm
- 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month 9am - 2pm

Volunteers are not required to have a set schedule, but it is helpful to know generally who will be working on each day. Additionally, certain jobs are not applicable on certain days of the week. All jobs will have on-site training specific to that work area. Volunteers are welcome to train in as many areas as they choose. The list of job areas below is NOT comprehensive; it simply gives us an idea of what job area will suit you best. Check as many as apply. If you change your mind after seeing the different jobs, that's just fine!

All volunteers must complete an Orientation Training before their first volunteer day. This includes some safety information required by JBLM, as well as introductory information about the MTS and it's mission. This training can take 1-2 hours. It is entirely computer-based, and can be done at home or in-store.

I, the person named above, am permitting the McChord Thrift Shop to send me the requested information regarding volunteering at the MTS. This may include an email or phone call to schedule volunteer times, as well as being added to the volunteer email list, if applicable. I give my permission for such communication. I also understand that I may not begin volunteerism until I complete the Initial Volunteer Training and proof of such has been submitted to the MTS Manager.

Parent Permission for Minor Volunteers (if applicable)
If the applicant is a minor (less than 18 years of age) a parent or legal guardian will need to give permission to the MTS for the minor to begin volunteering. Please come in with your minor child on their first volunteer day to sign the permission clause. If this is not complete, the applicant may not be allowed to volunteer.
