Critical workers and provision at Daubeney for their children
From Monday 4th January, schools in London will only stay open for children whose parents count as critical workers and children who are vulnerable.

We will be providing care and learning for children of critical workers over the next few weeks starting from Tuesday 5th January 2021. This will be for existing school drop off times (ranging from 08:30am – 3:45pm) and for pupils in Reception to Year 6 only. They will be completing the remote learning tasks set by their class teachers as well as other activities restricted to their childcare bubble. We are unable to offer Breakfast Club and Extended Day Care to registered children of critical workers at present.

We need to ask you whether any parent/carer in your household is a key worker so we know whether your child or children will need to continue to come into school. We will prioritise single parent families or families with both parents working in these occupations.

If you’re not sure whether or not this applies to you, please read the guidance on the link below or ask your employer before completing this form.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

Please take a few minutes to complete this short form to help us gather this information quickly and plan for the children we need to support in school over the coming weeks.

As part of this process, the school will need to see evidence of employment such as employment identification, contract of employment or letter from employer. Please forward this evidence to admin@daubeney.hackney.sch.uk. Please note your name, the name of your child and their class on the subject line.

Government guidance does encourage parents and carers who are key workers to keep their children at home if they can do so safely. The fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.

If your work is critical to the COVID-19 response, or you work in one of the critical sectors listed below, and you cannot keep your child safe at home then your children will be prioritised for care provision.

Under these unprecedented circumstances, things may change at short notice and we will ensure to maintain communication with you.

Please complete a separate form for each child and submit your response by 1:00pm on Monday 4th January. The school will then contact you to confirm if your child has been allocated a space.
