Thank you for registering for Defund the Police? with Peace Community Church. We'll gather on Wednesday evenings at 7–8 p.m. from May 12 – July 7.

Together we'll learn about the call for police abolition. When we confess “Jesus is lord,” we are leaving behind systems that operate by coercion, violence, and punishment. Following Jesus occurs in our bodies and with our lives. Christians committed to peace have removed themselves from military service because they refuse to harm or kill people at the direction of the state. We affirm that all people are made in the image of God. We believe that it is incumbent upon the church to discuss and discern policing as another form of state-sanctioned violence. With this curriculum from the Mennonite Church USA, we'll prayerfully examine what it means to engage the forces of state, what it looks like to commit to non-violence, and how to act to end policing and police brutality.
