The school is open as a safe place to enable staff to care for vulnerable children and the children of critical workers. If your child cannot be cared for safely at home, and you are a critical worker (as defined in this list - https://gov.wales/identifying-children-critical-workers-guidance) then you may be eligible for a childcare place. Capacity is limited and we therefore need to know in advance, what days you will require. Priority will be given to blue light workers, health and social care staff (including care home workers) and those on frontline childcare or education. Applications will close at 5pm on Thursday for the following week. An email will be sent to confirm your place, as soon as possible.
Opening times are 9.00am - 3.20pm, Monday - Friday.
All pupils will need to bring a water bottle, a coat and wear sensible shoes.
Pupils will be able to bring a packed lunch or request a school dinner (heated frozen meal).
Access to this provision should continue to be seen as a last resort in order to ensure that we mitigate all risks and keep everyone safe, and only if there are no alternative arrangements possible. If ANY adult is in the home then it is considered you have childcare and the access is not needed. This message is backed up by both Welsh Government and our Local Authority.
Please note, dependent on numbers we cannot guarantee that children will be kept in current class contact groups. For example Nursery and Reception pupils will create a contact group.
