Register for Fall Summit on Kayford 2019!
Register for this year's Fall Summit on Kayford Mountain!

Join us for a weekend of workshops, discussions, storytelling and community as we celebrate the changing of the leaves at the beautiful Stanley Heirs Park. Kayford is an important, historic space of resistance on the edge of destruction. Appalachian organizers, community members, and college students will honor this history by camping together atop a protected mountaintop, surrounded by mountaintop removal mining, to share stories and skills and build community.

We will discuss issues affecting Appalachian communities including mountaintop removal, pipelines, fracking, water, public health, indigenous solidarity, racial justice, direct action, community organizing, and more.

Do you have any notes or concerns about the event space?
Fall Summit is hosted at a small public park on top of a mountain (it is vehicle accessible). The terrain is grassy and gently sloping. There is space for tent camping, and there will be porta potties. There is no indoor space on the mountain, but we will have large tents set up as workshop spaces for the weekend. If you have any questions, or would like us to get in touch with you regarding any physical accommodations you require, please note so here.
If we had childcare available, would you be interested in using it?
We are working on gauging interest in having childcare available, and can contact you the week of the event to let you know what that's going to look like.
What workshops would you like to see at the summit?
Would you be able to participate in a protest on Monday morning (10/28)?

Any other info we need to know about you or your group?
How will you be donating? Suggested donation is $50-$200 per attendee, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
If possible, we ask that people pre-pay the registration fee (suggested donation of $50-$200 per person) ahead of time. This helps us cover the infrastructure costs of the summit such as food, water, sanitation, electrical generators, etc. We recognize that the people who attend these summits often come from a diversity of economic backgrounds and no one will be turned away for lack of funds; all donations are optional. As part of this we hope that people with more means will give what they can to cover their own costs and help cover the costs of people with fewer financial means.
