Thank you for your interest in participating in The Stanford Daily's Inaugural Summer Journalism Institute, a two-week internship program open to incoming frosh and current students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in journalism. This program is NOT open to high school students.
The program will run from Aug. 29 to Sept. 10. This is a virtual program run primarily on Pacific Time, but all sessions will be recorded, and asynchronous participation due to timezones is welcome.
The application for our program is due on Aug. 18 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
Interns will get to work one-on-one with editors from various sections of the paper, spanning our digital and print-producing sides. They will also be able to attend several speaker events about careers related to journalism and workshops about student journalism. Though this is not a full-time for the two weeks, we do expect interns to participate for roughly 8-10 hours a week. This is not a paid commitment.
