Cooking on a Campout
If the Scout wants to cook on a Troop event, please complete this form.  A Troop 719 adult will get back to you with approval.  Please do not buy any groceries until you hear back with approval.

Meals prepared for rank advancement or other merit badges may not count toward the Cooking merit badge. You may not repeat any menus for meals actually prepared or cooked in requirements 4, 5, and 6.

What Should Be on the Menu?
Using the MyPlate food guide (found at https://www.myplate.gov/ ) plan meals for your patrol of up to 8 Scouts  (including yourself). Your menus should include enough food for each person, keeping in mind any special needs (such as food allergies) and how you keep your foods safe and free from cross-contamination. These meals must include at least one breakfast, one lunch, one dinner, AND at least one snack OR one dessert depending on your rank advancement. List the equipment and utensils needed to prepare and serve these meals. Please remember to pack your food in a cooler under ice.
Cooking Equipment and Condiments
The Trop will provide the Scout with a stove or grill needed to cook. The Troop will provide charcoal if your Scout will be grilling. The Troop also has a wide selection of pots and pans. The Troop also has mustard, ketchup, mayo, relish and related condiments. Unless your Scout wants to cook with specialized equipment or needs a specific condiment, you do not have to provide those.
