Thank you for your desire to green Hokie Football! Green Tailgate volunteers walk around the various tailgating parking lots before each home game and talk to fans to educate them on how to recycle, distribute recycling bags, and ensure that recyclable materials are properly disposed of. There will still be plenty of time to tailgate and enjoy the game after volunteering! All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.

We will contact you 3 days before game day. This is just to relay information regarding where and when to meet.  You will be volunteering 1 to 1.5 hours, finishing 1 to 2 hours before kick off. We will be focusing on the parking lots with the highest tailgate traffic. If you have any questions please contact the Office of Sustainability (sustainability@vt.edu).
