Let us bring a team of volunteers to your organization to perform a community service project. Your projects might include painting, gardening or light landscaping, light construction, youth engagement, fighting hunger and more!
Projects can cover almost any need. Examples include painting, landscaping, organizing/cleaning, preparing marketing collateral (folding brochures, etc.), preparing info packets/packages for the nonprofit’s clients, etc.
Projects will begin – on location – around 10 AM. Projects should last between 4-5 hours. If they are a little shorter or longer, that is ok, but they should not end before 1 PM or after 4 PM ideally.
A representative from the organization will need to be onsite for the duration of the project to explain what needs to be done, answer any questions, provide general assistance, etc.
There is no cost to host a project. And, a nonprofit/business can host more than one project, and at various locations.
Volunteers are largely groups of employees from local businesses and organizations. Hosting a project as part of Day of Action is a good opportunity for each nonprofit to share what their organization does with these businessmen and women.
Nonprofits are welcome to provide lunch to the volunteers at their project, but it is not necessary nor required.
We will also screen your project for viability, safety and service to ALICE households.
After completing the form, a United Way staff member will contact you about next steps. Projects will be finalized throughout August.
