FAQs:
What if I can't make it the entire time? No worries! We would love for you to join us for however long you can and leave early or come in late if you need to.
What should I wear? While there is no specific dress code at the mosque, it is most appropriate to wear modest, loose-fitting clothing. You will also see the Muslims around you in similar full-length clothing, often traditional.
Do I take off my shoes? You may keep your shoes on during the whole event except if you’d like to walk into the prayer area (“Musallah” in Arabic). This is where we have clean carpets and shoes are removed before entering.
Can I ask questions? YES! This is why we are here: to foster knowledge, understanding, and faith. We welcome all questions; nothing is off-limits as long as we are all respectful and sincere. If we cannot answer you ourselves, we will try our best to direct you to someone who can.
Other mosque etiquette:
- We encourage everyone to talk, ask questions, and socialize! The only time we ask conversations to be kept quiet is during prayer time, to avoid distracting others.
- Please be aware that Muslims avoid physical contact with those of the opposite gender.
