I understand and appreciate that participation in a sport carries a risk to me of serious injury. I voluntarily and knowingly recognize, accept, and assume risk and release the USFA, their sponsors, event organizers and officials, as well as the owners, advisers, employees, and coaches of the Pioneer Valley Fencing Academy and the Northampton School Department from any liability.
I acknowledge that my child is medically permitted to participate in a high intensity sport and is covered by an appropriate medical insurance policy.
I understand that although some accidents may not be preventable, that my child’s risk of injury can be reduced by wearing the appropriate safety equipment (including an athletic cup for males and a chest plate for females) and by following the rules of the sport.
