We PNW listeners miss our local musicians, so I'm organizing this virtual concert series. Each concert will feature one artist performing for 15 minutes or more.
Please note that the details of your concert will be publicized on Facebook (
https://www.facebook.com/littlegemsconcerts) and on the Live Music Project concert calendar (
https://livemusicproject.org). Other than your email address and phone number, which will be kept private, all information submitted here will be publicly available.
Other FAQ:
• Which live-streaming platform should I use? You may use any livestreaming platform of your choice, as long as it is available to the public (ie, not limited to your Facebook friend circle). Pre-scheduled, embeddable streams are the easiest to direct people to.
• Does my performance have to be studio-quality? Nope! Go out on your porch, gather a family member, grab some instruments, and press go! Or stream from wherever you are most comfortable. If you're inside, maybe open your windows to share the music with your neighbors.
• Can I perform any kind of music? Little Gems is a classical / contemporary classical series, so keep the focus on those genres – but you're welcome to sprinkle other kinds of music into your program, here and there. :)
• Is Little Gems open to artists outside the Pacific Northwest? Maybe! We're currently highlighting PNW musicians, but may expand in the future. Feel free to sign up here anyway so we can reach out to you!
• May I sell tickets to my concert? YES! You may sell tickets to your concert.
• May I ask for donations? YES! It's encouraged!
• Can I embed my concert on a Dots campaign page and accept donations? Yes! You'll need a Stripe account and the ability to embed videos/livestreams on a 3rd-party site. Email me if you have questions about this. More about Dots here:
https://dots.livemusicproject.org/• Will a venue be provided? No, a venue will not be provided.
• If I need help live-streaming, will tech support be available? Unfortunately, technical support is not currently available, so it’s best if you choose a livestreaming method that you’ve tried before and that you're comfortable with.
• When should I kick off my stream? Please plan to start your stream 10-15 minutes early so that both you and listeners can iron out any technical difficulties before the start time.
Please fill out the form below and choose your preferred date. I'll get back to you to confirm.
Thank you for keeping live music alive in these unusual times!
