OW2022: Registration for Art, Sound Stages, Theme Camps, Activities, Mobile Art and Mutant Vehicles
ATTENTION: This is the 2022 form! You shouldn't fill it out.

You should go to the 2023 form here: https://forms.gle/xRjfhdjyJFcBvNcN6

OtherWorld 2022 is scheduled to return June 16th to 20th , and we are excited to learn all about your project.

Registration Form gives us enough information to contact you for placement if necessary, to allocate Directed Ticket codes for your team, to identify your project for receiving Early Access, and to connect you with the Fire Art Safety Team, if applicable.

Placement Form is used by Placement to identify how much space you'll need, and the location of your camp. If you need it, owplacement@kindlearts.ca will send a copy to you after you complete this form.

---

You do not have to Register your project, unless you intend to have fire effects, want placement, have a structure or device that is potentially unsafe, or a topic that requires further discussion or approval, so that we know to contact you. The email you use should be primary contact.

If you're contributing something, you are welcome let us know. We want to work with you to make it possible, even if it's literally a catapult for sharks.

Deadlines
To receive Placement, complete this form (Registration) and if necessary the Placement forms no later than MAY 25th 2022.

If you miss the placement deadline, you may still bring art, but it may not be possible to reserve a specific place for it. Contact owplacement@kindlearts.ca if you miss it. If you have a grant from us and you can't get placement, cc directors@kindlearts.ca.

To receive Directed Tickets, complete Registration no later than MAY 27 2022

You will be able to modify your responses after you submit the form if you need to make changes.

The Registration Form will close JUNE 10 2022.
What is your first and last name? *
What is the name of your Project/Art installation/Theme Camp/Activity? *
Project Co-Lead Name
Co-Lead Email
What are you planning to bring? *
Submit one form per art installation or project. e.g, The Empress would submit 2 forms, one for the Tea service Theme Camp, one for Lucifer, the Flaming Lamp Post.
Not sure what your project is? Here are OtherWorld's 2022 definitions.
Art Installations are a structure, and at least somebody considers it art. It is often but not always unattended. It often requires Placement.

Theme camps are themed zones, that may sometimes contain other art, open to attendees and managed/staffed/run by members of the camp. Bars and chill spaces are often theme camps.

Sound Stages is any zone, including a theme zone, that consistently runs powered speakers greater than 100 watts, or that consistently produces loud sound above 90 dB at 50' feet from the source. e.g, a snowmobile planted nose first in the earth and left running qualifies. Because our agreements with the venue and community require us to point loud speakers in specific directions, Placement is always required.

Mobile art is art you intend to be mobile and does not require placement, because it would just walk away anyway.

A Mutant Vehicle is an artistically intriguing, sufficiently altered mobile art, heavier than a human being, mobile under its own power or the power of another vehicle. e.g, an electric tricycle is not. An electric tricycle stripped to chassis and given a resin-cast body in the image of a stapler is a Mutant Vehicle.

An Activity is scheduled event you plan to host open to attendees, and you want us to know about it - either to disclose safety items, or for getting info about adding it to the Where - What - When guide when that form is released.
Describe your project, briefly *
Does your project include fire effects? *
Fire Safety will reach out. Fire Effects must be coordinated with the Fire Safety Team.
Does your project require structural inspection? *
Let us know if your project will involve a structure that would endanger someone if it collapsed, has instability or that is intended to be climbable
Does your project have any other element that could pose a safety concern? Briefly describe, if so. *
i.e, has uncovered sharps, is literally an angle grinder strapped to a chain, involves a trebuchet
Kindle Arts Memberships and Directed Tickets
Everyone on this list has a directed ticket reserved for them to purchase in 2022:

- Every theme camp or art project lead and their co-leads and their setup & tear down crew, and their scheduled shifts
- All gate crew, every Ranger, all team leads in the Production departments.
- Every named individual in the production org chart.

All of these volunteers are part of production and are earning membership hours, have a directed ticket reserved in their name for this year,  and qualify for early entry passes from June 13th for set up.

- - -

If you already have ticket reserved in your name, the code to purchase it will be sent out soon. Directed codes for you and your team will be sent after completing this form or by contacting tickets@kindlearts.ca

Our priority is to ensure that there are tickets for all individuals bringing art and theme camps or contributing to the event in production or a volunteer capacity.  If for some reason this describes you or someone on your team but you did not get a directed ticket, contact us at tickets@kindlearts.ca

- - -

How does someone become a Kindle Arts member? Two hours in an infrastructure role or six hours in a content contribution role in 2022 qualify them for membership in 2023. Learn more about what qualifies here, and be sure to claim your hours after the end of the event.

Do you have a setup / teardown crew and additional co-leads to name? *
We'll send you a directed code to unlock tickets for your team.
Early Access
If you are bringing art, you and your setup / teardown crew receive Early Access from any point after June 13th, Noon.

We'll add your lead (you) and your co-lead to the list of people who should receive Early Access when you complete this form, and once we have your setup / teardown and crew list, we'll add them to the Early Access List.

If you have a very large project or major build or special circumstances, it may be possible to grant access from June 11th.

Send us an email at Otherworld@kindlearts.ca if you need to discuss.
Kindle Arts and Placement
The Placement team reserves space and locations for projects at the site in order to construct a cohesive map that benefits everyone, including ensuring there is enough room for everyone's art, that sound control works, that portable toilets are located appropriately, and that family friendly and adult areas are placed appropriately, that quiet zones are quiet, and that day/night activity levels flow together smoothly.

Not every project needs Placement, but if you want to know you'll have the space to set up a specific project, you should apply for Placement.

Placement can provide frontage, a reserved location with a specified size, and other needs.
Do you require Placement? *
If you select Yes, we'll send you a Placement Form to apply for Placement when those forms are ready, or for any project that sounds like it needs Placement. Fire Effects and Sound Stages will always require Placement.
Would you like us to reach out to you for taking on a joint greeter shift or other volunteer opportunities?
It's okay if you have your hands full already. Joint greeter shifts can be a fun party time!
Clear selection
Are you interested in collaboration with other projects?
LNT Contact
Our community respects the environment we are in. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather.

We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than when we found them.

All attendees are responsible for ensuring the site remains clean when they leave.
What is the email of the co-lead person responsible for ensuring LNT on your project happens? *
We will send the MOOP map - a map of matter out of place, which is usually where we found trash left behind - to this address.
Would you like us to avoid mentioning your project? *
Sometimes folks like to create surprises and to facilitate spontaneous moments, but also want to disclose them to Production in advance. This is to encourage you to register your project, even if you'd like to avoid publicizing it or including it in the WWW.
