Contact Info for Recipient Organizations
FOUND Forgotten Food is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization that reduces food waste in Nova Scotia by harvesting, gathering, and distributing food that would otherwise go to waste. Food that is not donated is put to use elsewhere, including being offered wholesale to local cafes and restaurants and being transformed into shelf-stable preserves and other goods that can be sold locally. FOUND also works alongside community partners to offer a variety of events and opportunities that help to increase engagement with food waste education.

It is important to note that these food donations are sporadic and can be different every time. We are responsive to the food 'waste' of local farms and producers, and this is never really something that farmers (and therefore we) can know in advance. Most of the time we only have a few days notice to go and harvest - and often it results in a lot of only one or two types of produce at a time.

This form will be used to update our list of organizations who are open to receiving collected food. The information provided here will help us to determine where to send collected food depending on the location, timing, and nature of harvests.

Thank you in advance for your time!
