How do we design a course that is inclusive and equitable for all students and their learning? Do you know that difficult conversations about race are not always required to be inclusive? In this workshop, we will explore relevant inclusive teaching pedagogy that strives to serve the needs of our students and support their success. Topics include strategies for an inclusive classroom environment, an equitable course structure (to support rigorous learning outcomes with high expectations for all students), providing additional support and accessibility for all, grading for equity, and incorporating diversity into our classroom and curriculum, etc. Participants will then brainstorm and personalize inclusive teaching practices to implement in their own classrooms.
