EdTech Mini-Con Call for Presentations
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL

Submission Deadline: January 13, 2023

The Adult Learning Resource Center is excited to announce a new EdTech Mini-Con to be held on Friday, February 17, 2023. This is a free virtual one-day event, and we anticipate large audiences for each session. Attendees will be able to attend up to four sessions.

The EdTech Mini-Con will offer Illinois adult education instructors professional development on how to use technology to present lesson content, to teach students digital skills, or to use for student practice in face-to-face or virtual classroom settings. Sessions should not focus on how to access or operate an EdTech tool; rather, the focus should be on using EdTech tools for instruction.

Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of clarity, relevance of content, and interest to an audience of adult education instructors.

All sessions will be 60 minutes (see schedule below). Presenters should plan to deliver their content for 50 minutes, leaving 5 minutes at the beginning and end of each session for ALRC and PDN announcements.  All sessions will be recorded for possible availability in iLEARN in the future.

EdTech Mini-Con Schedule for Friday, February 17, 2023
9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Sessions will be presented through Zoom meeting. You will have access to Zoom Chat, polling and surveys, breakout rooms, annotation, etc. In addition, an experienced Zoom moderator will be assigned to each session to provide technical support during your live session. Presenters will be scheduled for a practice/coaching session with their moderator before the conference.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  In order to have uninterrupted live streaming of your presentation, it is strongly recommended that presenters' devices be connected to the internet through a direct Ethernet/cable connection rather than a Wifi connection.
