Request for Leave of Absence During Term Time
We strongly advise parents and carers NOT to take any leave of absence during school time. If your child has days off from school they will miss important learning.

As a parent/carer it is your legal duty to ensure your child attends school on time every day.  

Schools are advised NOT to authorise ANY requests for leave.  We cannot grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.  

School policy for leave of absence during school time:
Parents/carers should make every effort not to take any leave during school time.
If parents/carers have no other alternative, then they must make a request using this form.
If parents/carers take more than the agreed authorised leave then their child may lose their place at this school and you may be issued with a penalty fine.
Parents/carers must only book tickets after they have had the authorisation letter from school. A copy of the tickets should then be shared with the school as soon as the flights have been booked.
A senior member of staff may hold a meeting with the parent/carer on receipt of this form to discuss the request.

If you take your child on holiday or out of school during term time without obtaining the school’s agreement a penalty fine may be issued as a result of this absence.
