Please be aware when adopting from Hope's Dream Rescue and Sanctuary:

1.) You are committing to a lifetime agreement for this pet. If for ANY reason you decide that you cannot keep said pet, you MUST contact us immediately. We do not allow re-homing on your own unless first getting the new adopter approved through us. We work very hard and for many hours saving these animals from situations that could cost them a lifetime of neglect, abuse or even death.
2.) When you adopt, you are committing to keeping this pet up to date with all required vaccinated and regular health visits as required by your vet. If adopted pet is a dog, you must keep all licenses up to date.
All current pets must be up to date on required vaccinations in order to adopt. (Rabies & FVRCP for cats, rabies & distemper for dogs.)
3.) We have a right to request a follow-up home visit to check on a newly placed pet. We also can help at that time with any questions or concerns you may have.
4.) If adopted pet has not yet been altered due to age or health, you are required to have altering done by date on altering contract. If at any point in time any of our placed animals becomes pregnant, you must immediately relinquish the pet back to the rescue. We do NOT encourage breeding, intentional or not.
5.) Our adoption fee is $80 for cats, $150 for dogs. That is nonrefundable if you decide to return the animal for any reason or we need to repossess. The fee is considered a donation and goes straight to our veterinarian so that we can help more animals in need. There is NO profit in animal rescue. We are all volunteers.
6.) We, along with most rescues, will not adopt out a cat when the potential adopter is planning on declawing. It is a very painful procedure and recovery period for cats. It is banned in many countries. There are alternatives to use to deter unwanted scratching, such as scratching posts and claw caps. We urge you to rethink your decision for any cat you may get in the future.If we learn that you did have one of our adopted cats declawed, you will be required to relinquish the cat back to us immediately.
7.) It is the responsibility of the adopter to maintain accurate and updated information on the adopted pet's microchip.
8.) Any cat/dog adopted from Hope’s MUST be an indoor only pet. We do not allow cats to free roam.
9.) If you do not have any pets and no applicable Vet reference, if the application is approved - you must take the adopted pet to a vet within 30 days and provide proof of such. Failure to follow will result in the removal of said cat.
