MGA Geo Institute June 7-10, 2022
This summer, the Mississippi Geographic Alliance is partnering with the Pascagoula River Audubon Center for an educator Geo Institute. This institute will be held from June 7-10, 2022 at the Pascagoula River Audubon Center, 5107 Arthur Street, Moss Point, MS 39563.

The hours of the institute will be from 9:00am - 4:00pm each day.

By attending and participating in this Geo Institute, educators will learn how to conduct a MGA Geo Camp with students either in their classrooms or in their school district, using MGA's online learning portal along with sessions, lesson plans and activities, Educators will gain tools and have access to resources, materials and activities to include field study to run a successful Geo Camp.

For full participation in the institute, educators will receive a $200 stipend and CEU's will be available from the University of Mississippi.

*MGA will conduct a student Geo Camp the following week in the same location and will ask up to 5 educators from this institute to work at the Geo Camp. The stipend for working during the Geo Camp will be $500 and CEU's will be available from The University of Mississippi. Selected educators will be notified via email.

I understand that there are physical requirements for this Geo Institute (outdoors, lifting, heat, bugs, working with plants, kayaking, boat ride and being on the water, etc.) *
I understand that to be eligible for a $200 stipend and CEU's, I will have to participate fully in this Geo Institute. *
I understand that as a participant in this Geo institute, I will be required to take the online working with minors training conducted through the University of Mississippi. *
I would like to be considered to teach during the Student Geo Camp the week of June 14-17, 2022. *I understand that I will be paid a $500 stipend and CEU's for full participation in working during the Student Geo Camp. *
I understand that if I am selected to work at the student Geo Camp the week following the institute, I will be required to undergo a background check initiated  through the University of Mississippi. *MGA pays for these background checks and they are at no cost to the participant. *
I understand that in light of the ongoing Covid-19 health crisis that health protocols are ever changing and I will adhere to MGA's, PRAC's and local health guidelines while participating in this institute. *This understanding also applies if I am asked to work at the student Geo Camp. *
