Dear St. Marians,

Over the past months a group of lay leaders and your clergy have been meeting to study diocesan, local, and state regulations and CDC recommendations, monitor local COVID-19 data, and plan a path for reopening our parish for in-person gatherings.

The survey below will help us navigate worship, advocacy, and activism offerings moving forward. Your responses will help us shape the worship and formation opportunities that best suit the needs of our congregation in this unique time. Sacred Ground Program: (https://episcopalchurch.org/sacred-ground) a dialogue on race grounded in faith, of ten sessions, meeting twice a month via Zoom with film and reading resources to be completed between meetings.

Pastors care small groups coordinated by lay leaders, with clergy training and assistance.

Weekday Virtual Bible Study with our clergy

Home devotions created by our clergy.

Thursday 8:30 PM Zoom Compline (spoken)

Additional virtual worship opportunities.

Virtual Hymn Sing, with proper technology in place.

In general, what circumstances would make you feel comfortable returning to an in-person service? *

As long as the church has a good protocol for limiting attendance (<25), enforcing social distancing, cleaning, etc., I’d be ready right away.

I’d be ready if the church has a good protocol and the local infection rate is low and stable.

I won’t be ready until an effective vaccine is widely available.

Any in-person services we might have over the next several months will be different than what we are used to. If we could offer a brief, monthly, outdoor communion-only service with all required safety precautions in place (including registering in advance to attend, limit of 25 participants, approximately 15 minutes in length, 6-foot distancing, masks required for everyone, no singing, communion with bread alone, no seating or bulletins, no passing of the peace, and no coffee hour or social time) how willing would you be to participate? *

I’d be happy to be back at church no matter what.
