As Missouri art educators we want to improve our pedagogy and see how we can best support and serve ALL of our students. In an effort to work towards Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Committee was formed under MAEA in early 2021. Equity work has been prevalent at the national level but we are proud to continue the work through our state chapter. We invite you to join us during our Saturday JEDI Brunches every other month. Here we will discuss topics of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as they relate to curriculum and classroom culture in the art classroom. Some upcoming conversations will cover “Windows, Mirrors, and Sliding Glass Doors”, “Representation Matters”,  "Inclusive Practices in the Art Room", "Neurodiversity", and “Avoiding Cultural Appropriation” among many others.
