This form serves to document the request for subject change or subject drop. It is important the understand the guidelines for Subject Drop or Subject Change:
1. Subject drop is only done at the start of
Grade 11.
2. Subject change can only be done at the start of
Grade 10.3. The deadline for subject change and drop is on the 01/02/2024. No request for subject adjustment will be entertained past the deadline
4. All subject change in Grade 10 will need to take place in light of the 2 guiding principles; all students should have at least one science and one humanities subject. This means that even after subject adjustment students will need to have at least one science and one humanities. No request will be considered if they go against those 2 guiding principles.
5. This form can only be filled by a responsible party ( parents or guardians); students are not allowed to fill in this form.
6. Students and/or parents should have informed the subject teacher of their intention to drop the subject and ask for their advice.
7. The process does not always result in automatic change. This means that your request may be denied by the Curriculum Leader or team. This may be because the students do not have enough of subjects or does not have adequate grades.
8.Students might not be eligible for ICE if they do not have 2 languages, 1 science, 1 humanities, 1 maths and 1 vocational/professional subject. Dropping a subject or changing to another change might have an impact of the career pathways or future subject selection at AS/A level. It is, therefore, important to carry out extensive research to determine the impact of change in subject.
