In response to the inexcusable tragedies that have occurred in the nation within the Black community, we were compelled to move beyond just support for the Black Lives Matter movement and into action. On Friday, July 10, 2020, at 12:00 pm, we sent a letter to the University of Cincinnati's Board of Trustees and Administration with a call to action for enacting much-needed racial equity on campus, with an emphasis on justice for the Black community. The University of Cincinnati has historically failed to act in the interests of the Black community and has neglected to create and sustain an environment where Black scholars can lead a dynamic and edifying collegiate experience. Within this letter, we list 10 concrete demands of which we believe will begin to revolutionize our University into a place that is truly inclusive of all students.
