ACE Mentor Program of Oregon Student Application (2023-24)  Part 1

Registration for the 2023-24 Program is now closed! This form should only be completed when instructed for incomplete applications. 

About ACE
The ACE Mentor Program is a free after-school program for high school juniors and seniors (and sophomores as space permits). The Oregon affiliate program will run from January 9, 2024 to May 16, 2024.

Students who are accepted into the program will be assigned to a TUESDAY or THURSDAY team depending on their availability. The Program Calendar can be viewed on our website. 
  • Teams 1-6 will meet Tuesday from 4:30-6:30pm
  • Teams 7-12 will meet Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm
Application deadline:
November 13, 2023 (parts 1 & 2 completed). You must complete this form and the registration on the ACE National Database to be considered.

Notification: Students will be notified about acceptance to the program by mid-December, 2023

While completing the application, please do not use an email tied to your school unless you don't have a personal email.

Application Process
There are 2 parts to the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon application:
  • Part 1 (Oregon): Complete and submit this application.
  • Part 2 (National): Complete the national online registration on the ACE National Database. This part includes the required parent/guardian consent form. There will be a reminder to complete this step at the end of this form.
While completing the ACE National Database registration:  
  • If you are a new student to ACE, create a student account with your personal email (scroll down to find the student button)
  • If you are a returning student, log in to your account (contact ace@portlandworkforcealliance.org if you need assistance logging in).

Student Requirements:
  • Junior or senior in high school (grades 11 & 12)
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Have successfully completed 2 years of high school level math
  • Have a good school attendance record
  • Be drug/alcohol free

ACE Oregon runs 12 teams in-person. For the 2023-24 year, a virtual team may be possible with volunteer support.

ACE Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is essential to the success of each ACE team. ACE has the following attendance policy:

• Students are expected to be on time and attend all meetings.
• In the event of illness or unavoidable conflict, two “excused” absences are allowed. Students must notify ACE staff and their Mentor Captains in advance.
• Additional absences may result in dismissal from the program.
• A “no-show” is an unexcused absence and may result in dismissal from the program.
• If experiencing barriers to attending sessions regularly, it is the student's responsibility to communicate with their Co-Captains and ACE staff.
